The city of Verviers has developed in the valley of the river Vesdre in the province of Liège. It has always been a centre of wool production and nowadays the town is depicted as Water Town. Verviers is very close to some great cities in the Belgian Ardennes: Spa and Malmedy are both less than half an hour’s drive away. Furthermore, a few kilometres east one can find the astonishing nature park of the High Fens.
